Choose this one if

  • You want an air bike that will not wake the rest of the house
  • You want a fan bike under 120 lb that one person can reposition
  • You want a console, phone holder and bottle cage without paying for a name

The detail

Belt drive is the specification that matters here. A chain-driven air bike adds a mechanical clatter on top of the fan noise, needs periodic tensioning, and eventually needs lubricating. A belt is quieter, needs nothing, and does not mind being ignored — which in a home gym is exactly the maintenance schedule it will get. The fan is still loud, because that is how air resistance works; there is no quiet air bike.

The 25-inch fan is the resistance curve. Air bikes are self-limiting — the harder you pedal the harder it fights back — so fan diameter sets how much resistance is available at the top end rather than how hard the easy efforts are. Twenty-five inches is the common size and is not the limiting factor for anyone.

At 120 lb this is on the lighter side of the category — the Assault AirBike is heavier and built correspondingly heavier. That cuts both ways: this one you can wheel out of the way, and it will move more under a genuinely violent sprint. A 350 lb user capacity is generous and covers essentially everyone.

The included console, phone holder and bottle cage are the sort of thing that sounds like filler until you are 30 seconds into an interval and want to see the clock. The 2-year warranty is shorter than the frame warranties elsewhere in the Bells of Steel range, which is normal for anything with moving parts.

Expect 30 to 60 minutes of assembly. It ships partially built.
