Choose this one if

  • You want fixed dumbbells and the wall space to keep them on
  • You want fine steps at the light end — 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15
  • You want virgin rubber heads rather than recycled

The detail

Twenty-three weights from 3 to 100 lb is a genuinely fine ladder, and the resolution is where it matters: 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 covers the range where a 5 lb jump is a 30% increase. Most dumbbell ranges start at 5 and go up in fives, which leaves beginners and anyone doing rehab or rear-delt work with nowhere to progress to.

Sold by the pair rather than as a set, so you buy the weights you actually use. That is the practical answer to the main objection to fixed dumbbells, which is that a full set costs a fortune and takes a wall — you can buy six pairs, not twenty-three.

The comparison is against adjustables like the PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP and the Ironmaster Quick-Lock. Fixed dumbbells are instant and shaped like dumbbells; adjustables take one shelf and cost you seconds per set. If you superset or drop-set, fixed wins by a distance.

Virgin rubber heads rather than recycled is the material worth having — recycled crumb sheds, smells, and loses shape. Chrome handles with steel underneath is standard construction.

The handle diameter varies from 1 to 1.5 inches depending on weight, which is the right approach: thin handles suit light dumbbells where a fat grip feels clumsy, thicker handles spread load once the weight is enough to strain your fingers.

±3% tolerance is loose — three pounds on a 100 lb dumbbell — and normal for moulded rubber heads. If you want matched pairs to the ounce, this is not the category.

Two years is a modest warranty. The rubber head is what fails on a hex dumbbell, usually where it meets the handle, and virgin rubber lasts better than most.
