The detail
"Minimum 165,000 PSI tensile strength verified by metallurgical lab analysis" is an unusual sentence and the most interesting thing on this spec sheet. Tensile figures are the most commonly inflated number in the barbell market — most brands publish a figure with no stated basis. Vulcan publishes a lower number and says where it came from. A verified 165,000 is worth more than an unverified 190,000.
Vulcan is equally direct about the bar's limits: recommended for garage and home gym use, and explicitly "not recommended or warrantied for commercial" use. That candour is rare and useful. This is a home bar, priced and built as one.
Light-to-medium knurl is the right choice for that job. A home lifter doing volume across a whole session is better served by knurl that grips adequately and does not take skin than by the aggressive knurl on a Texas Power Bar.
Dual markings with no centre knurl makes it a genuine do-everything bar — IWF spacing for the Olympic lifts, IPF for the bench and squat, and nothing scraping your collarbone in a front rack.
The 1,000 lb capacity is the honest ceiling, below the 1,500 lb standard on mid-range bars. For anyone squatting under 500 it is not the limit.
Smooth sleeves let plates slide on easily; one-piece sleeve construction and double snap rings are the durable arrangement. Bronze bushings need nothing done to them.
Zinc is the weak point — the least durable common finish, and it will patina at contact points. That is the cost of the price.
