Choose this one if

  • You want a squat rack and a dual-stack functional trainer as one machine
  • You want two independent cable columns for flyes and crossovers
  • You want the option of a 26-inch depth without the front feet

The detail

A rack and a dual-stack functional trainer in one frame is two machines' worth of training in one footprint. A separate cage and a separate functional trainer would need roughly 50 by 47 inches plus another 53 by 30.

Two independent 160 lb stacks is what makes it a functional trainer rather than a cable tower. Independent columns give you flyes, crossovers, unilateral pressing and rotational work — movements that need two hands pulling from two different places, which a single column cannot do at all.

At 2:1, each 160 lb stack gives about 80 lb at the handle. That is the trade functional trainers make: half the load, twice the travel, and it is correct for the movements they exist for. It is not the machine for heavy lat pulldowns — Fringe's own Cloverfield tower runs 1:1 for that.

The depth figure is the interesting one: 47 inches with the front feet, 26 without. Twenty-six inches is remarkably shallow for a machine of this capability, and it is what makes it viable against a wall. The front feet are what let you lift outside the uprights safely, so removing them is a real trade rather than free space.

Two heights — 87.5 inches with the multi-grip bar, 81 with the straight bar — so a low ceiling does not rule it out entirely.

Six hundred and three pounds is the number that tells you this is placed once.

UHMW and ABS components where the moving parts contact steel, chrome front uprights, and a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
