Choose this one if
- Your PowerBlocks live on the floor and you would rather they did not
- You want the blocks at a height where changing weight is easy
- You own a non-expandable set of 50 lb or under
The detail
A pair of PowerBlocks on the floor means bending to the floor every time you change weight, and changing weight is the entire point of owning them. A stand puts the blocks and their selector pins at hand height, which turns a weight change from a chore into a two-second operation.
The open design is the functional difference from a closed cabinet. You can see and reach the pin from any angle rather than pulling the block out first, which is what makes mid-workout changes quick.
The compatibility limit is strict and worth reading twice: Sport 24, Pro 32, Sport 50 and PowerBlock 50 — the non-expandable models, capacity two dumbbells at 50 lb each. PowerBlock states plainly that it is not compatible with sets larger than 50 lb. If you own a Pro 100 EXP or anything expandable, this is the wrong stand — the Compact Stand takes 90 lb per side.
Flat trays with lipped edges is a small detail that matters: a block that can slide off a stand will eventually slide off a stand, and it lands on your foot.
At 18 by 28 inches the footprint is modest and 22 inches tall puts the blocks at roughly bench height.
Five years of residential warranty on a welded steel stand is generous for something with nothing to fail, and it matches the warranty on the dumbbells it is designed for.
Assembly is required and it ships in one carton.
