Choose this one if

  • You want a lifetime warranty on a bar rather than a defects-only policy
  • You want light knurl that will not tear your hands on volume
  • You want the same bar in 20 kg and 15 kg so two people can train

The detail

Dual bronze self-lubricating bushings is the notable specification. Two bushings per sleeve spread the radial load rather than concentrating it, and self-lubricating bronze is impregnated with a lubricant so it does not need servicing — which is the right answer for a bar that will get chalk, dust and no maintenance for a decade.

Light knurl on the 20 kg version is the deliberate choice to understand. It grips less than a medium or aggressive knurl and it will not shred your palms across a long session. If you deadlift heavy with sweaty hands you will notice the difference; if you train volume, this is the more livable bar. Note that the 15 kg gets medium knurl, which is correct — a 25 mm shaft has less surface to grip so it needs more texture.

The specs diverge between the two weights more than usual, so read carefully. 190,000 PSI on the 20 kg against 180,000 on the 15 kg, and a 12.5-inch loadable sleeve on the 15 kg against 16.25. That short sleeve is the real constraint on the women's bar — about two and a half bumpers per side.

No centre knurl on either version, and both carry Olympic and power marks, so neither bar is committed to a discipline.

A lifetime warranty puts this ahead of PRX's own Prime and Dakota bars, which carry manufacturer-defects coverage. On a bar, that difference is worth reading twice.

Zinc on the shaft is the weak point. It is the least durable of the common finishes and will patina at contact points — the cost of the price.
