Choose this one if

  • You own a PR-5000 and your plates and bars are on the floor
  • You want storage that does not add depth to the rack
  • You want plate and barbell storage from one attachment

The detail

Adding storage to the sides rather than the back is the design point. Depth is usually the scarce dimension in a garage — it is what determines whether you can still walk past the rack, or park a car. Storage Wings sit flush with the rack's profile and add 29.01 inches of width while leaving the depth unchanged.

Eight or ten weight horns plus two barbell tube stands is a serious amount of storage: enough for a full plate collection and two bars, all within reach of where you load. Plates stored across the room mean carrying every plate twice.

There is a secondary effect worth knowing: several hundred pounds of plates hanging off the uprights is ballast, and it materially improves the stability of a rack you have not bolted down — related to what the front foot extensions do from a different direction.

The 8.48-inch horn length is the practical limit per peg. That is roughly two bumpers or four iron plates each, so the capacity comes from having eight or ten of them rather than from any one being deep.

Compatibility is specific and worth reading carefully. These fit PR-5000 racks including the 5000 Series Ares 2.0, Athena, Wall-Mounted Ares 2.0 and Ares. REP states that the Omni, Apollo, Wall-Mounted Athena and Wall Mount-Fixed Rack are not compatible, and declines to guarantee fit on other brands' racks.

The 80-inch and 93-inch height options should match your rack's uprights; the taller one gets two extra horns.

They also take REP's Peg Board, which adds 12 hooks and a lat bar hanger for cable attachments — the accessories that otherwise end up in a pile.
