The detail

Integrated plate storage is what this rack is really selling. The uprights are 49 inches apart, the foot plates take it to 53, and the plate storage takes the total width to 76.25 inches. That is a lot of wall — and in exchange your entire plate collection lives on the rack, at arm's reach from the bar, instead of on a tree across the room.

There is a structural bonus: several hundred pounds of plates hanging on the rear of a half rack is ballast, and it is exactly where a half rack wants weight. A loaded front is a lever trying to tip it; plates at the back resist that.

A half rack means lifting in front of the uprights rather than inside a cage. No steel beside your elbows, room to walk out of a squat, and space for a bench or a machine that would not fit in a four-post. Rogue's positioning is fair: more space-efficient than a power rack, more storage than most.

The 17 or 24 inch inside depth choice is the one to think about. Both are shallow, because a half rack is not somewhere you stand — you lift in front of it. Seventeen inches is the tighter, more space-efficient option; 24 gives more room for the bar to sit back on the J-cups and for attachments inside.

At 90.375 inches this needs a genuine 8-foot ceiling.

Rogue does not publish a weight capacity in the Gear Specs for this listing. Get it in writing if you lift heavy — a half rack's rating is the number that matters most, since the load is cantilevered rather than enclosed.

At 330 lb it sits between the SML-2 squat stand at 157 and the six-post RML-690 at 530.
