The detail
A 53 by 34 inch footprint makes this the most compact Rogue cage, and that is the whole reason it has been the default recommendation for a decade. Compare the RML-390C at 34 or 40 by 53 inches on 3x3 steel, and the six-post RML-690 at 80 by 53. In a garage that also parks a car, the R-3 is the one that fits.
The Shorty option at 84.375 inches is the specification most people miss. A finished basement is often 84 to 88 inches to the joists, which rules out a 90-inch rack outright. The Shorty fits where nothing else in the range will — at the cost of pull-up clearance, which at that height means bent knees for anyone tall.
Twenty-four inches of inside depth is tight and deliberate. That is enough to squat and bench in, and not enough to move around with attachments installed. If you rack-pull or want to work inside the cage, the 30 or 36-inch options on the RML-390C are the better buy.
Infinity Series compatibility is the practical reason to buy Rogue rather than a generic 2x3 rack: 2x3 uprights with 5/8-inch holes, and a deep attachment ecosystem built around them. Note that Infinity and Monster Lite are different standards — Monster Lite is 3x3 — so attachments do not cross between them. Get this right before ordering accessories.
Two-by-three inch 11-gauge steel at 200 lb is solid rather than heavy; bolt it down or expect movement on an aggressive rack-out.
Rogue does not publish a weight capacity in the Gear Specs for this listing. Get it in writing if you lift heavy.
