The detail
"Meets all major competition specs: Yes" is the difference from the Original, and if you compete it is the only line that matters. The Original is explicitly listed as not meeting them.
The dimensional changes that get it there are worth understanding. 29 mm rather than 28.5 is the IPF power bar diameter. A low-profile collar rather than the Original's thicker classic profile is what federation rules specify. And the 6-inch centre knurl — the longest of the three Texas bars — meets the marking requirements while giving the most back-grip in a low-bar squat.
The 16.75-inch loadable sleeve is the longest here, against 16 inches on the Pro and 15 on the Original. On a bar you will load to competition totals, that is real: nearly two extra inches per side.
"Aggressive-medium" knurl is a step back from the Original's aggressive, and it is the right call on a competition bar. Federation knurl has to grip a chalked hand under a maximal deadlift without shredding it during a long warm-up.
200K+ tensile is above the 190,000 standard, and it matters more on a 29 mm power bar than anywhere else: stiffness is the point, and stiffer steel means less deflection across your back under a maximal squat.
Maintenance-free bronze bushings give controlled rotation and need nothing done to them.
Made in Texas with American steel — the same line that has been running since 1980.
