The detail
Identical dimensions at every weight is what "competition" means, and it is the only reason to pay for one. A cast kettlebell grows as it gets heavier, so moving from 20 kg to 24 kg changes the rack position, the distance from your forearm and the swing path — you re-learn the movement at every weight. A competition bell puts the extra weight inside the same shell.
The contrast is stark within a single catalogue: Fringe's PRIME cast kettlebells publish handle diameters that wander between 1.19 and 1.63 inches across the range. This one is 1.3 inches at every weight.
A 33 mm handle is thinner than a typical cast bell, and PRX makes the point that matters: thinner handles reduce grip fatigue on high-repetition work. On a set of thirty snatches that is the difference between finishing and not. It is also the same diameter as Rogue's competition kettlebells.
Cast iron handles absorb chalk, which a painted or coated handle does not. That is why competition bells are bare or lightly coated at the handle.
Colour coding follows the competition standard: 16 kg yellow, 24 kg green, 32 kg red. If you train at a gym or compete, those colours mean the same thing everywhere.
PRX claims "tighter tolerances" without publishing a figure, which is the gap here. Rogue states ±1% and Bells of Steel states ±100 to ±200 grams. Ask PRX for a number before comparing.
No warranty term is published either.
