Choose this one if
- You want decline pressing without buying a decline bench
- You want to do Nordic hamstring curls and have nothing to anchor under
- You own a BlackWing, Nighthawk, AB-5000 or AB-5100
The detail
Two exercises justify this attachment, and the second is the interesting one. Decline pressing needs your legs anchored or you slide off the bench — that is the obvious use. Flip the roller round and it anchors your ankles for Nordic hamstring curls, which is one of the most effective hamstring exercises there is and one almost nobody can do at home because it needs something immovable to hook under.
Rotating pads matter here. Under a Nordic curl your ankles are taking a large share of your bodyweight through a small contact area; a pad that spins rather than dragging is the difference between a hard set and a bruised achilles.
Tool-free installation into the rear spine receiver in under a minute is what makes it get used. An attachment that needs a spanner comes off once and stays off.
Two honest limits. It provides bodyweight resistance only — no weight horns, no band pegs, no cable attachment. REP is explicit that if you want loaded leg extensions and prone curls, their separate Leg Extension & Leg Curl Bench Attachment is the different product. And you must remove it to store the bench vertically, which for anyone whose bench lives on end against a wall is a daily step.
Bench mobility is otherwise unaffected — wheels and handles still work with it installed.
Compatibility is narrow: the BlackWing, Nighthawk, AB-5000 and AB-5100. It does not fit the AB-3000 or the AB-5200, and REP declines to guarantee fit on non-REP benches.
The 2.0 changes over the original are upgraded roller pads, an added handle, and construction refinements.
