Choose this one if

  • You own hex dumbbells and want them off the floor
  • You want to add racks as your set grows rather than buy one big one
  • You want angled shelves that present the handle rather than flat ones

The detail

Angled shelves with no saddle is the correct geometry for hex dumbbells. The angle presents the handle up toward you, so you pick the dumbbell up in the position you will use it rather than levering it off a flat surface. Saddles — moulded cradles — exist for round urethane dumbbells and will not take a hex head at all, which REP states plainly.

The additive design is the practical strength here. One rack takes a 5 to 50 lb set; two take 5 to 100; three take 5 to 125. You buy for the set you own and add a frame when the set grows, rather than buying a 65-inch commercial rack on day one. Compare the fixed Force USA 3-tier and Bells of Steel residential racks, which are one-purchase decisions.

REP designs this around its own Hex Dumbbells and says it may be compatible with similarly sized commercial dumbbells — that is a hedge worth respecting. Measure the width of your heaviest dumbbell before ordering; a 100 lb hex head is a much larger object than a 30.

Shelves are pre-selected and cannot be bought separately at launch. REP does document later swaps: short Dumbbell Rack 2.0 shelves interchange with Kettlebell Rack 2.0 shelves, but not with long Commercial Rack shelves. Choose the configuration at order time.

This is a freestanding line, not compatible with in-rack storage or the Modular Storage System.

Assembly is about 30 minutes to an hour per rack and REP recommends two people. Lifetime warranty on the frame and structural welds.
