Choose this one if
- You want a 15 kg bar with the same steel as a good 20 kg bar
- You want a 25 mm shaft your hand can close around
- You want a longer loadable sleeve than most 15 kg bars offer
The detail
190,000 PSI on a 15 kg bar is the point. Smaller bars are routinely specified down on the assumption they will be loaded lighter — Bells of Steel's own 15 kg Olympic bar drops to 180,000. This one uses the same steel as Rogue's 20 kg bars.
The 25 mm shaft is the real reason to buy a 15 kg bar, and it has little to do with the five kilos. Grip limits pulling far more often than back or legs, and a bar you cannot fully close your hand around costs reps that have nothing to do with strength.
The 13-inch loadable sleeve is generous for a 15 kg bar — ahead of the REP Colorado 15's 12.4, the PRX Prime's 11.7 and Titan's 11.75. On a short-sleeve bar, an extra inch per side is a real difference in how many bumpers fit.
No centre knurl and dual marks makes it a genuine do-everything bar: IWF spacing for the Olympic lifts, IPF for squats and presses, and nothing scraping your collarbone in a front rack.
The F6-R rating places it toward the whippy end of Rogue's scale, which is correct for a 25 mm shaft and useful for the Olympic lifts.
Black zinc over bright zinc is the weak point. Zinc is the least durable of the common finishes and will patina at contact points — the cost of this being the cheapest Bella variant. Rogue's Cerakote and stainless versions exist for that reason.
Note the warranty: Rogue lists a construction warranty rather than the lifetime term on their premium bars.
