Choose this one if
- Your room is too narrow for an 86-inch bar
- You want a short bar that still grips like a full-size one
- You want a very stiff bar for pressing
The detail
Seventy-two inches is the whole product. A standard barbell is 86.75 inches, and in a spare room, a basement with a support post, or a rack tucked into a corner, that bar does not swing. This one does — and it keeps 52 inches between the sleeves, so your hand spacing on a bench or a press is unchanged from a full-size bar.
The F16-R rating is the specification most people will miss. Rogue's F Scale runs from whippy to stiff, and 16 is far up the stiff end — the multipurpose Ohio Bar and Castro Bar sit at F8-R. A short bar has less length to flex, so this is physics rather than a design choice, and it means the bar sits dead still under a press and gives you nothing to time on a clean.
The 8.875-inch loadable sleeve is the real constraint — roughly two bumpers or four to five iron plates per side, and it caps you long before the steel does. Titan's Shorty bar makes the same trade at 9 inches; there is no way around it on a short bar, since the length has to come from somewhere.
The rest is standard Rogue: 28.5 mm shaft, 190,000 PSI, dual knurl marks, no centre knurl, bushings, Cerakote shaft over bright zinc sleeves.
Rogue does not publish a bar weight for the C-70S, which is unusual and matters — a short bar is lighter than 20 kg and you need the figure for every loaded total. Ask before ordering.
Cerakote on the shaft is the right finish for a bar that may live in a damp corner. Made in the USA with a lifetime warranty.
