Choose this one if
- You have a Monster Lite rack and your plates are on the floor
- You want storage you can pull off in seconds when the upright is needed
- You want to add ballast to a rack you have not bolted down
The detail
The best place to keep plates is on the rack, because that is where you load them. A plate tree across the room means carrying every plate twice; a channel on the upright means sliding it off and onto the bar without moving your feet.
Twelve and a half inches of usable length at 180+ lb per post is a real amount — roughly three bumpers or six iron plates each. Two posts hold a meaningful fraction of a plate collection.
Detent-pin mounting rather than bolts is the practical feature. Bolted storage stays put forever; a pinned post comes off in seconds when you want the upright for a lever arm, a safety, or a lat attachment. On a rack where the uprights are contested real estate, that flexibility is worth having.
There is a secondary benefit people underrate: weight on the rack is ballast. A few hundred pounds hanging off the uprights materially improves the stability of a rack you have not bolted into concrete, and it is exactly where you want mass on a rack you rack out of aggressively.
At 5 lb the pair adds nothing meaningful to the rack's own weight, so the capacity comes from the steel section rather than mass.
Fitment is Monster Lite exclusively — Rogue's 3x3 uprights with 5/8-inch holes — covering rigs, racks, wall mounts and squat stands including the RML-390C and SML-2. Monster Series racks use a different hole size.
