Choose this one if

  • You want one bar for squats, presses, pulls and occasional Olympic work
  • You want no centre knurl at all on a 20 kg bar
  • You want Cerakote corrosion resistance in a damp garage

The detail

This is the men's counterpart to Titan's women's bar and it makes the same choices: 190,000 PSI, 1,500 lb capacity, medium volcano knurl, dual IWF and IPF marks, and no centre knurl at all.

Dropping the centre knurl on a 20 kg bar is the notable decision. Most general-purpose 20 kg bars keep it — it helps a low-bar squat — and most people find it shreds a shirt on high-rep bench and scrapes the collarbone in a front rack. Titan has chosen comfort, which is right for a bar that will spend most of its life pressing and pulling rather than under a maximal squat.

The 28.5 mm shaft is the general-purpose middle: between the 28 mm Olympic and 29 mm power standards, so it is stiffer than a weightlifting bar and whippier than a power bar. Combined with bronze bushings, this is a bar that does everything competently and nothing perfectly — which is what you want if it is your only bar.

Cerakote is the durability argument. It resists corrosion and abrasion better than zinc and does not wear through the way thin decorative chrome does. On a garage bar that swings between freezing and humid, it is the finish worth paying for — though the sleeves here are black zinc rather than Cerakote, so those will patina first.

The 15.5-inch loadable sleeve is slightly short — most good bars offer 16 to 16.5. That is roughly three bumpers per side. Check it against how you load.

Made in the USA from American steel is genuine and unusual at this level.
