Choose this one if
- You own change plates and they currently live in a heap by the rack
- You want them at the rack rather than across the room on a plate tree
- You want the smallest possible storage addition to a rack
The detail
Change plates are the ones that disappear. They are small, they get set down mid-session, and by the following week the 1.25s are under the bench and the 2.5s are on the floor by the door. A plate tree solves storage for 45s and does nothing for these.
Two 4-inch posts spaced 12.75 inches on centre is the whole product: enough loadable length for a full set of change plates or fractionals, split across two posts so you can separate sizes. At 49.5 mm the sleeves take standard Olympic plates.
The value is location, not capacity. Bolted to a rack upright, the plates are at arm's reach from the bar — which is the difference between adding 2.5 lb between sets and not bothering. Microplates you have to walk across the room for do not get used, and a progression scheme you do not follow is not a progression scheme.
Four inches per post is not a lot of length in absolute terms. Change plates are thin, so it holds a genuine set; do not plan on parking 45s here. The 300 lb capacity is well beyond what a change plate set weighs.
At 8 lb and 15.9 inches wide it is a trivial addition to a rack, and mounting hardware is included.
Fitment is TITAN Series racks. Titan's rack lines do not share hole patterns — the T-3 uses 2x3 with 11/16-inch holes, the TITAN Series uses 26 mm — so check yours before ordering.
