Choose this one if

  • You want a full-height rack with the smallest possible visual footprint
  • You bench and squat with a spotter, or you lift within your limits
  • You want 3x3 steel and a pull-up bar without paying for a cage

The detail

This is the half rack with the rear structure removed: identical 3x3 inch 11-gauge steel, identical 90.5-inch height, identical 42-inch pull-up bar and 26 mm hole pattern. What changes is capacity and mass — 1,500 lb rackable against 2,000, 2,500 lb whole-rack against 10,000, and 191 lb against 238.

The 10,000-to-2,500 drop in whole-rack capacity is the number that tells you what the back of a half rack is actually doing. It is structure, not storage.

The honest limitation of a squat stand is safeties. There is no back to hang long safety straps or pins from in the way a cage gives you, so a missed rep has fewer places to end up. If you train alone and push singles, that is the argument for the cage or the half rack instead. If you train inside your limits, or with someone else in the room, a stand does everything a cage does with far less steel in your way.

What you gain is space and access. Nothing surrounds you, so you can walk out of a squat in any direction, set a bench up at any angle, and use the same floor for something else five minutes later.

At 49 by 61.25 inches the footprint is the same as the half rack — the feet are what determine that, not the frame — so this saves you steel and money rather than floor.

Sandwich J-hooks are included, and the 26 mm TITAN Series holes mean TITAN Series attachments only. Bolting down is optional and, on a stand this tall, worth doing.
