Choose this one if

  • You want a hex bar with room to stand in rather than perch in
  • You want raised handles as the default rather than by flipping the bar
  • You want 16 inches of loadable sleeve

The detail

Twenty-four inches square of inside space is generous, and it is the dimension people notice once they have used a cramped hex bar. A tight frame means you set up with your feet close together and your shins against the steel; 24 inches lets you take a natural stance.

The handles sit 8.5 inches off the floor as the standard position — this is a "high hex" bar rather than a flip-to-raise design like the PRX or Titan bars. A raised handle shortens the range at the bottom, which suits taller lifters and anyone working around a mobility limit. If you want a low, full-range pull, this is not the bar.

Sixteen inches of loadable length is barbell-class plate space — roughly ten 45 lb iron plates per side — so the bar will not run out before you do. That matches the Rogue TB-2 and American Barbell hex bar.

Seventy-five pounds makes this the heaviest hex bar covered here, against 40 lb for the American Barbell and 60 for the Rogue. That weight is 2x2 inch steel and a large frame, and it goes into every loaded total — write it down.

At 82 inches long and 28 inches wide it is a big object to store. Vulcan does not state whether it racks, and at 28 inches wide it is unlikely to sit in standard J-cups.

Vulcan does not publish a weight capacity, handle diameter or knurl specification for this bar. Handle diameter in particular affects grip on carries — worth asking before ordering.
