The detail

Two thousand six hundred and forty-five pounds is more than double the next highest bench here — Titan's TITAN Series flat bench manages 1,200 lb and the PRX Razortooth 1,200. American Barbell also states it as tested to rather than rated at, which is a stronger claim.

For a home lifter that number is academic. What it tells you is the margin: a bench tested to 2,645 lb is not flexing under 500.

Twelve inches is the IPF competition pad width. If you compete, train on 12 — the bench on the platform will feel foreign otherwise. Narrow also lets your shoulder blades hang off the edges and retract fully, which is what a tight press needs.

Seventeen inches is competition height, the number that lets most people get their feet flat with their shins vertical.

Two and a half inches of padding is firm rather than plush, and American Barbell frames it correctly: comfort balanced against the firmness peak pressing needs. A thick soft pad lets your shoulders sink and costs you the platform you set up.

At 60 lb and 48 inches long it is genuinely portable — lighter than the Fringe flat bench at 64 lb and much lighter than the 76 lb TITAN Series. On a bench that comes in and out of a rack every session, that matters.

American Barbell does not publish a warranty term or the upholstery material for this bench. Upholstery is what fails first on any bench, so both are worth asking about.

There is no incline position. If you press on an incline, you need a second bench.
