The detail
A 1,000 lb rating on an adjustable bench is high, and it is the number that separates this from the crowd. Hinges and ladders are why adjustable benches usually rate lower than flat ones — the Bells of Steel adjustable manages 575 lb, and Titan's own Elite Series FID drops from 1,000 flat to 500 angled. Fringe publishes one figure.
Decline is the position most adjustable benches omit, and it earns its place: it biases the lower chest and lets some people press without the shoulder irritation that flat and incline both cause.
At 11.5 inches the pad is narrow, which is the correct choice for a pressing bench. Narrow lets your shoulder blades hang off the edges and retract fully; wide props them up and feels more comfortable while pressing worse. It is the same reasoning as the Fringe Falcon's 11.25 inches.
Eighteen inches of height is taller than the competition 17, which suits taller lifters and will lift a shorter lifter's heels off the floor. Check before ordering if you are under about 5'6".
At 70 lb it is movable without being flimsy — roughly the midpoint between the 50 lb Bells of Steel bench and the 108 lb Falcon.
Fringe does not publish the number of incline or decline positions or the pad thickness on this page, which on an adjustable bench are the two things you most want to know. The angles are shown in an image rather than in the spec table; ask Fringe for the list before ordering if the exact positions matter.
One year of warranty is short for a bench and consistent with the rest of the Fringe range, which reserves lifetime coverage for the Falcon.
