Choose this one if
- You own a 5 to 50 lb dumbbell set and no floor space to spare
- You want a rack that is 17 inches wide rather than 51
- You want the choice between a vertical tower and an A-frame
The detail
Seventeen inches wide is the argument. Most dumbbell racks are horizontal furniture — the Force USA 3-tier is 65 inches of shelf, the Bells of Steel residential rack is 51. This one stacks vertically instead, so a full 5 to 50 lb set occupies less than a foot and a half of wall.
The tower-or-A-frame choice is the other useful flexibility. A tower is narrow and tall and goes against a wall; an A-frame is stable free-standing and lets you reach both sides. Which suits you depends on whether your gym has a spare wall or a spare corner.
The 500 lb capacity is the constraint to check. A 10-piece 5 to 50 lb set — which Titan states it holds — is roughly 550 lb in pairs, so read the capacity as matching the specific set it names rather than as headroom. If you own anything heavier, this is not the rack.
At 27 lb the rack itself is light, which is the flip side of a vertical design: the mass is all in the dumbbells and the centre of gravity is high. The non-slip base and bumper edges help, but do not knock into a loaded tower.
Four and a quarter inches of dumbbell resting width sets what fits per tier. Hex dumbbells at the heavier end of a 50 lb set are wider than people expect — measure a 50 before assuming.
If your dumbbells are adjustable rather than fixed, a PowerBlock stand or an Ironmaster stand is the right product instead.
